THERE WAS NO GENEVA CO, AL before 1868
BEFORE 1868 GENEVA CO was the land in DALE, HENRY, COFFEE CO, AL
(Coffee County was created December 29, 1841 from Dale County.)
It was unclear to the Territory of Florida whether its northern border would
be the 31st parallel or Ellicott's Line until 1848, when the States of Alabama
and Florida agreed to use Ellicott's Line as the border. However, by then surveyors
from Florida had already surveyed up to the 31st parallel (St. Stephens Base
Line).

I checked the site ... http://home1.gte.net/toniab/Mtplesnt.txt
and
found the following Pridgens:
Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva Co., Al
Highway 153
surveyed by Tonia Porter
and Helen Bartlett 4-30-1999 >>
If anyone is interested all these listed in this cemetery the
Pridgens and
Owens are descendants of Johnnie Petiller Pridgen the son of John
Wright
Pridgen who was the son of Allen Pridgen .b. Oct . 3 1814

I found a obit in the
1-20-1977 in the Panama City Fla Newsherald
of a
JESSE GREEN SELLERS who died in Panama City and was buried in the
TABERNACLE CHURCH CEMETERY in GENEVA COUNTY, ALA.. There were 2
brothers
listed surviving A Rev. E. O. SELLERS,Tallahassee,
Fla. and Rev A. O.
SELLERS, Lakeland, Fla.. The E. O. I believe to be ERNEST OSCAR
SELLERS B.
12-6-1893 in GENEVA COUNTY, ALA.
The Rev. A. O. SELLERS
in Lakeland I haven't a clue so if anybody
can fill
in infomation, it would be deeply appreciated

P.S. I have several name
along that line
I have a Susan E. SELLERS ( b.01 May 1857, d. Aug 1930, buried at
Burns
Cemetery, Slocomb, Geneva Co, AL). Susan married George Wesley
BURNS ( b.
07 Sep 1851,FL; d. 01 May 1908,Burns Cemetery, Slocomb).
They had Shines
Brinkley BURNS (b. 23 Mar 1880, d. 08 Dec 1946, Burns Cemetery,
Slocomb)
I do know that George Wesley BURNS father was James Charles Burns(b.
17 Feb
1825, FL; d. 16 Feb 1901) and Rebecca Ann Hamilton(b. 06 Sep 1833,
AL; f.
22
Sep, 1917). They are also buried at Burns Cemetery, Slocomb.
Sure could use any help in finding this family.

Does anyone recognize any of these Sellers. Trying to see if
they tie into
David Ashley Sellars(b. 1826, lived in Washington
Co., FL & then Dale Co.,
AL), son of William Sellers
(b. 1774)& Nany MOYE b. 1771
1. Joe Earl Sellers, Sr. was born 22 June 1879, and died 15
January 1950
buried in Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery, Slocomb, Geneva
Co., AL. He
married Maude Weeks. She was born 18 February 1884, and died
12 January
1969 in Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery, Slocomb, Geneva Co., AL.
Joe Earl Sellers is buried more towards the center of the cemetery,
while
all these other Sellers are buried in the most southeastern corner,
in a
tight group & are all connecting, closest to the church and
the road. The
church is to the south of this group, and the road is right in front
of
this
group, east of the cemetery. You can spot this group from
the road. I was
told Joe Earl Sellers, Sr. is connected to this group, but don't
know how.
Sure could use the help in figuring this one out. Thanks.
