Rev.A.L. SELLERS,who has been pastor of the Methodist Church at Luverne
for the past four years,was born in
Pine Level,Montgomery County,Dec.28,1854.His early
life was principally spent in Butler County,and he was
educated in the county and in the high school at Greenville.He joined the
Alabama Conference at Mobile in 1879 and
his assignment to pastoral work was at Monroeville,where he served one year;
since his service in the church had
been as follows: Geneva 3 years; Echo in Dale County 4 years; Eufaula 2
years; Ozark 3 years; Wetumpka 1 year;
Perote 1 year; Midway 2 years; Forrest Home 2 years; LaPine 1 year;
Andalusia 1 year; Havana 1 year; Gainesville 2
years; Fort deposit 1 year; and again at Luverne for 4 years. No minister of
the Gospel has ever held the affection of
the church at Luverne and the-general public at Luverne more strongly than
this good man. He and his good wife
have labored without ceasing for the church,for Christianity for the sick
and afflicted,in fact wherever good could be
done.
